So what kind of things have you guys actually experienced? I guess i should start this of with a story of my own.
The tale of the knife and the toad: At my birthday many years ago when I was a child not yet in school, my grandfather bought me a folding knife. I was inexperienced with it and while at a forest I cut my finger pretty deep near a particular rock, and much of of the blood hit the rock. That particular rock reminded me quite a bit of a large toad. I, being a particularly temperamental child at the time threw the knife away in anger and ran home, after binding the wound with certain leaves my grandfather told me about. I didn't tell anyone that I threw the knife away. I was pretty sad the rest of the day, not knowing how to explain the missing knife. When I got to sleep, I dreamed of a large frog with horns, thanking me for the blood, telling me it returned my knife and warning me that if I ever left my trash at its home, it would take a lot more than a little blood to appease it. Next morning as I rise from bed I find the knife at my night table beside me. It took me a few years to gather my courage enough to go into the forest again and when I visited the place again, nothing much happened but it felt like I was being watched, and as I left the forest I saw a large toad disappear into the forest. (My memory is not the best so some parts might be a bit inaccurate, plus I tried to write it in folk story format this time...)

I have a story!
YA and the Eye
Two years ago, I was walking home from play practice. this was around 10 pm. I had been living by myself and using the alone time to become more spiritually aware. as i passed over a bridge, I got a bizarre sensation, and peeked over the edge. To my surprise, the large amount of water flowing under the bridge had developed an eye, which blinked and stared at me. Surmising that this was some form of elemental, and that it was upset, i preformed a small chant, and the mudra of nine cuts in order to create a soothing spiritual light. though the light from the electric lamps lining the street where white when i began, they began to take on a blue tint, which soothed the creature, and it melted back into the water.

Here are my most interesting ones: - I remember when I was about three or four, I was playing at the school across the street from my house sometime in the evening. I was with my mother, and we were heading back and I had ran way ahead of her, so I was nearly to the street when she was just leaving the playground. I paused on the sidewalk to wait (I never wanted to cross the street alone when I was younger), and a police car came through the school's parking lot. Suddenly, a man in either the passenger's seat or the back of the car (I can't remember now), waved at me, and I was certain at the time it was my dad. The car turned and continued down the street in the opposite direction from my house, but when I returned home, it turned out that my dad had been watching television the whole time. - A few years ago, strange things began to happen at my house. At first I would just get a strange feeling from my bedroom and a little from the basement, but I never told anyone. One day, one of my friends (who has had other experiences of her own) started telling me about the strange feeling she got in my house, and, without telling her why, I asked if it came from any rooms in particular, and she named my bedroom and the basement. A few strange things have happened in my bedroom; I used to sleep in there and I would feel something jump on and then off of my bed at night. I also have an alarm clock that I haven't used in years. It's always set to off, but sometimes the alarm still goes off at random moments. - I saw a shadow person in my basement once. I was sleeping down there, and I woke up suddenly with a horrible feeling. I looked across the room, and there was what looked like the silhouette of a person standing next to a bookcase. As soon as I looked at it, it started walking along the wall, but it moved super-fast and differently than a human would. It disappeared once it reached the end of the bookshelf, and I haven't seen it since. - Another time, my friends were sleeping over and I came upstairs to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. When I reached the hallway, the lights were already turned on in the bathroom and I could see shadows under the door, like someone was walking around inside the room. When I opened the door, there was no one there. The next day, my friends and I were all in one room and my parents weren't home, and suddenly we heard a knock at the door to the room. My friend reached over and opened it, and no one was there. Occasionally since then, I've heard knocks on the walls, especially when my friends are around.
I know of a few more that I didn't see personally but sound like they could be youkai, if anyone wants me to post them. (My post is getting long, so I thought I'd stop for now and ask in case I'm just boring everyone.)

Okay, here are a few more. ^^ Neither of these happened to me personally, but they involved family members.
- My father is an electrician, and before I was born his shop was in a different location than it is now. When he bought the old one, the people that had owned it before him told my parents about strange things that would happen at night. Apparently they sometimes slept there, because they said that they were occasionally awakened by some kind of spirit that looked like a huge eyeball. It would always fly into the room, swoop down over them, and then disappear. My parents say they never saw anything, so I'm not sure if what the people told them was completely true. Unfortunately, they sold that shop before I was born, so I've never had the chance to go inside and see for myself.
- I'm not sure if this one is really anything paranormal or not, but I've never heard any logical explanation for it. This was also before I was born, so I didn't see it myself. One day my parents were driving somewhere in the country, and they looked behind the car, and a large fireball drifted across the road right behind their car and into a field. They described it as looking like an actual fireball, not like ball lightning or anything like that.

the fire ball may have been some sort of flaming gas. O-o there are some slow burning gasses that cause drifting, short lived fire balls.
as for the eyeball...i'm not sure on that one.

In the Philippines, we call that fireball as santelmo which may ranged from a ghostly dancing flame to natural fireworks.

I think it's an abbreviation for St. Elmo's Fire.
